Roll Recutting
Our recutting is strictly custom work, being either orders from our growing catalog, combined scanning/recutting, or individual requests for cutting a midi file supplied by the customer. Our technology is state-of-the-art, and we can produce rolls in any width up to 20" with any perforation scale. Our greatest strengths are flexibility, knowledge and personal attention.
Generally speaking we are not a "production" shop and do not routinely perforate many copies of the same roll at once. Of course we are happy to oblige customer requests for additional copies and welcome your requests and ideas for new projects.
As with roll scanning, our pricing is based both on labor and instrument time. The terms and conditions shown under "roll scanning" also apply here, with the following changes and/or additions:
Pricing And Terms: 1. Roll cutting of midi files to a single spooled, boxed and tabbed recut is provided at the inclusive instrument time/labor rate of $50. per hour. 2. A minimum of $150. will be charged for cutting the first roll of several, or for cutting a single roll. Multiple copies of the same exact roll will be cut at the rate of $50./hr. in addition to the minimum $150. charge. 3. Our equipment operates at speeds dependent upon how many holes are cut at a given time. For example, highly orchestrated "busy" arrangements take longer than more thinly arranged rolls. As a rough guide, we generally average 250-300 feet of paper per hour. This is dependent on the musical content of the midi file and does not include set-up time. 4. Set up time is minimal in the case of most roll formats. Work involved in completing the finished product is included in the cutting cost. 5. We maintain a stock of appropriate cardboard inner cores and boxes to accommodate the majority of American nickelodeon and orchestrion rolls. In cases where additional materials are needed, such costs are to be borne by the customer. 5. Midi files sent to us for the purpose of producing paper rolls will only be accepted on floppy disks, CDs or DVDs. Midi files sent over the internet will not be accepted. |
